A pair of dark brown eyes snapped open and struggled to adjust to the darkness. The petite girl sat up in her bed and struggled to catch her breath. Brielle could feel tears pooling in her eyes and falling down her cheeks. She'd just awaken from a vivid dream, one that she wished she'd never have again. It'd been happening more frequently as of lately, and Brielle was suffering because of it. How was she supposed to sleep if she was terrified to close her eyes?
The small girl slipped out of her bed carefully. She knew she shouldn't be sneaking out the castle, but she also knew that laying in the bed and waiting for sleep to return would be a pointless effort. She slid her feet into the first pair of shoes her feet could find before tip toeing out of the Slytherin Dungeons. Brielle's brown hair bounced around wildly as she ran up the stairs and outside.
Her feet padded on the ground with no honest sense of direction. Brielle was running, but she was unsure of exactly what from. All she knew was that running forced her to breathe, and that had to be a good thing. All sense of time was lost, and she kept pushing until she couldn't physically take it anymore. Brielle slowed down and collapsed on the ground. She pulled her knees up to her chest and looked around.
She must have circled the grounds because she was back in the courtyard. Sighing softly, she ran her fingers through her hair. Lately, Brielle had been feeling so disconnected from everything. These dreams weren't help one bit. Her eyes began to tear up again and her vision began to blur. The small girl tried to sort out her thoughts, but it also proved to be a moot effort. Suddenly, the sound of footsteps echoed all around her. "Who's there?" she called out softly.

Elric had popped out and smirked softly. Guitar in hand. "Dont worry...not going to harm you." He muttered charmingly, as he admired the view and weather. "Shouldnt be out at night." He smirked wickedly. Either should he be.

Wide-eyed, Brielle looked up into the face of an older boy. She couldn't put a name to the face, but she thought she recognized him from the Slytherin common room. "I could say the same about you," she said lightly. "I don't believe we've met. Brielle Temple." She smirked up at him.

"Elric." He extended his hand and kissed the top of hers, it was only customary in his kingdom. "A pleasure." He inclined his head respectfully. "May I inquiry as to your whereabouts?" He smirked, he did know that if they got caught it would mean some consequences.

A small smile spread across her face, catching Brielle by surprise. She usually worked so hard to keep her cool and indifferent demeanor. But he's from my house, so I guess it's okay. Brielle moved over a little in case her wanted to sit. Not that she need to, being so small. "Nice to meet you too," she said softly. "I just..." her voice trailed off. She'd almost admitted her dream! "I needed to clear my head." Brielle wiped her slightly teary eyes with her other hand and looked down at the ground for a moment. "And what could possibly bring you out here?" she asked curiously. "You play?" she asked, spotting the guitar in his hand.

He blushed softly and nodded. "Yes...its my way of getting away from reality. I always come out at night and play." He managed a small and sat down. He was glad they were well away from the school and eyes of teachers and prefects.

Brielle's smile grew as she looked down at he ground. It was...nice to be around someone who was honest. Most of the people that Brielle knew would have responded with some type of snide remark, or told her it was none of her business. It was true that Slytherins could be nicer to each other as a whole, but they were generally callous people. At least this was true for Brielle.
"That's cool." Brielle had always loved music, but they only thing she could do well was sing. "Could you play me something?" she asked with an angelic innocence. "I love music." A soft laugh escaped her and she bit her lip to stop it.

He nodded and smiled softly. He placed the guitar in his lap and started to strum the strings gracefully and then started to sing. It was a perfect night. He also had an auidence. He loved performing for others.

Another sleepless night, he had. The pitying eyes forevor haunted him. Those sparkling, all knowing eyes haunted him by day and by night. He could not forget those kind words he had uttered. Why? Why would such words be spoken, especially when he was so cruel to his favorite boy, Harry Potter. It inflicted him with wounds that would not leave him be.
Draco couldn't stand to be pitied. Well, except perhaps by those that shared his views, but otherwise, he hated it. It was a horrible feeling, that the weight of someone else falling onto you, because the pitied you. A horrible weight for one to carry, really. So instead of dealing with it, which he practically never did, he exited his bed.
As he walked through the corridors, he noticed two shadows in the courtyard below. A smirk crept upon his lips. Perhaps he would have a good night after all. A night to get some idiots in trouble, perhaps. He could easily excuse himself from the problem of being out after curfew. He was Head Boy, for one. Another, his aunt was the Headmistress, and she always had final say in any type of punishment.
Walking to the courtyard, he found the two speaking not to be Gryffindors, or Hufflepuffs. Not even Ravenclaws. No, they were two Slytherins, both within his organization. He paused briefly, to learn what the topic was. Apparantly, the two were simply out for a stroll. But he knew that untrue. Besides, most of the Slytherins were plagued with nightmares of various different things.
The first person, a girl, was Brielle Temple, an okay girl. She was pure of blood, but of course, he didn't know where exactly her loyalties lied. So he knew to be careful, as per usual. The other, a male, was Elric Crawford. Much to his surprise, the Slytherin was playing a guitar, and singing. An odd quality for a Slytherin, he mused. He pushed that aside, however.
Walking into the courtyard, a glint appeared in his eyes. He stayed within the shadows, to test them. To see if they knew who exactly it was. If they failed...well, punishment would come at the meeting. "You do realize that it is after hours, don't you?" He questioned, putting on his most authorative voice he had, somewhat disguised as well.

Madison Riccio had a tendency to wander around the castle at night to cure her insomnia. She was about to walked past the courtyard when she heard a sound coming from it. A person's voice.. singing, no less. She furrowed her eyebrows and directed her way towards the courtyard. She came upon two students, a boy and a girl who she did not know. Then, another figure appeared in front of the two. Draco Malfoy.
Coming up to the group, she looked at the three of them quizically. "Hey," she said casually. Except for it wasn't casual because it was after hours and no one was really supposed to be outside. Not that they listened to the rules anyways.
She heard Draco ask them if it was after hours as if he was trying to be the big man on campus or something. "Oh hey, would you look at that. It is after hours, isn't it? I totally did not figure that out, seeing as there is like... practically no one in the halls," she said sarcastically, a small smile outlining her lips.
Madison would probably get attitude for that one. God forbid anyone shows up Draco. That was like, forbidden. Sort of. She did it anyways. What was he going to do, hex her? She would just to her father and tell him and he would go to Draco's father and then Draco would get in trouble. But she wasn't a snitch anyways.

Closing her eyes lightly, Brielle leaned back on her elbows. She was surprised that this Elric boy could play. The notes calmed Brielle down, and it was quite an intoxicating feeling. She wished it could just last forever. No nightmares, not worries, no annoyances. To Brielle, calmness was quite possibly the best feeling in the world. Or maybe the second best. Power was always a good thing too.
"That was brilliant," she said softly as Elric finished up. "Thank you." Brielle was so lost in the moment that she didn't hear footsteps approaching. The voice, however, the soon followed was unmistakable. Brielle sat up and pulled her knees back up to her chest. Everything that'd seemed so perfect a few minutes ago seemed as if it was flipped upside down. A small shiver ran up her spine, and she wished that she'd brought a sweater. Which honestly should have been the least of her worries. She had been caught out after hours, by Draco Malfoy of all people. But what was her going to do to her? They'd hardly spoken before, but still the had no reason to dislike each other.
But still, this was Brielle. She felt the need to make some kind of snide remark. Of course I know it's after hours, she thought sourly. It's not like I'm a little first year either. Just as she was about to say something, another girl came up that Brielle didn't know. Whoever she was, she'd taken the words right out of Brielle's mouth. Feeling a bit deflated, she settled for a simple response. "Yes, I know it's after hours," she said calmly. "I also know that if I spent another wretched minute in the castle, I'd simply go mad."

Elric nodded in agreement wih Brielle. He set his guitar down and looked at Draco. He tucked his hands in his pockets and enjoyed the cool air. "Yes I know its after hours." He replied as well.

Immediatly after his words, another person became known in their little circle. He listened to all of their words, and nodded. He stepped out of the shadows, and into the half light of the moon, studying each of their faces carefully. No hint of hidden thoughts or emotions showed, and that was good. He knew, at least, that for the moment, they would be fine.
At Madison's words, a single eyebrow raised in question to her attitude. He stepped closer to her, his gray eyes blazing. "Do you think you're funny? With a sarcastic reply like that? You do realize what can happen to you, should you say words like that to the wrong person?" He glared at her, before turning to Brielle. He inclined his head to her words. "I realize that many people do have the need, and I was not chatizing you."
The boy, Elric, simply nodded and confirmed that. Draco raised a brow in confusion, expecting a smarter answer than that. He nodded towards the guitar. "You play well, however odd a hobby that is for a Slytherin. But nontheless, it was played well." Draco was honest in his words, and simply waited for the replies, leaning against a stone pillar.

Elric blushed softly and nodded. "Thank you Draco." He inclined his head respectfully. This sort of felt awkward in a way. Elric was good in groups, but he had never been caught out in the courtyard before where he spent countless nights playing his guitar. Therefore, he did not know what to say.

Brielle glanced at Elric our of the corner of her eye, a small smile returning to her lips. This was quite possibly one of the strangest nights she'd had at Hogwarts. There was a slight tension in the air and it just felt awkward. Her fingers picked a few marigolds from the ground and she idly twisted them into a flower crown.
When she finished her crown Brielle placed it gently on her head. She knew it was a bit childish, but that was why she did it. All she wanted at the moment was her carefree days of childhood back. The days when things didn't matter.
Finally bored with the silence, Brielle let her big brown eyes drift up to Draco. She smirked at his comment to the girl she didn't know. "That's good to know then," she said sweetly in response to his statement. Brielle wasn't in the mood to get in trouble, so she was glad Draco had found her out her and not Granger.
Draco was another one of those people that Brielle didn't know what to make of. I wonder... Brie ran her fingers through her hair and looked up at the sky. I probably shouldn't. But now the seed was planted in Brielle's mind, and she was determined to break the silence. "So, what brings you out here this late?"
