The night was rather warm out, Jonathan had noticed. It was a perfect night to wander around. He snuck out of the boys' dormitorties and into the Hufflepuff Common Room. It was then he had noticed a black streak running around. Faithful you devil, he thought amused. What the heck was the cat doing? Shaking his head, he snuck out of the common room with his sword in hand, thinking about practing.
The prince made no noise as he walked rather quickly to the forest. The forest reminded him of the one right next to the Tortallan palace. He frowned for a minute, calling on his Gift. His hand glowed sapphire blue as he waved it around, his sapphire blue eyes puzzled in the darkness. He had thought he had heard someone following him. Oh well. With that thought he began practing his sword movements, unaware that someone was watching him.

Hallie knew it was kind of, well really, stupid to roam around the castle at night, let alone go venture into the forbidden forest alone in the moonlight. She still had no idea what brought her there all she knew was that she was bored and she went there. It was quite dumb, really.
She sat on one of the high and sturdy branch of a tree in the middle of the forest. Everything was perfectly still and she believed that she was alone until she saw, on the corner of her eye, something blue slashing through the air. She quickly turned around to see what it was. Blinking to make everything clearer, all she saw was a hand wagging what looked like a sword in the darkness. What the heck?!? She quickly jumped off the tree to check what it all was about, landing on the ground with a soft thump.

Absorbed in his pratice, the prince did not hear anything but a small thump. His ears perked up. Who will be out here this late at night Great Mithros, he wandered to himself. You would, a voice in his mind answered back and the prince grinned to himself as he sheathed his sword.
"Hello?" he called in a deep voice. He decided to leave his Gift around as he looked for the source. He smiled as he saw a fellow Hufflepuff. "Why hello there my lady. What brings you hear this late at night?" His sapphire blue eyes twinkled. He had not forgot his manners that was for sure.

She took every step cautiously so as not to reveal her presence to the¡K wagging sword? The sword was not slashing through the air on its own, the one doing it was positively a man for they spoke up in a very deep voice. They said hello.
It was really dark and all she could see was all the glowing. She was still unsure as to who it was but when they said my lady, she knew that it was the Hufflepuff Prince, Young Kaori¡¦s brother. She had never talked to him before so she did not know how exactly to respond at his rather polite greeting. ¡§Hello there, Sir,¡¨ She said shyly, nodding slightly. ¡§I was bored and I do not really know how I got here.¡¨ She said, stifling a chuckle. ¡§How about you sir?¡¨ She was not really fond of return questions but she just could not think of anything else at the moment.

Jon smiled. "Its just Jonathan or Jon. Whichever one is fine." He shrugged, indicating that he didn't mind which name she used. As long as she did not call him 'Johnny.' Then he would have problems. His younger sister Kaori always called him that. No matter how much he told her to stop she would not listen. She listened to their parents well enough. But he had a hard time making her listen to him. He had stopped himself whenever he wanted to acutally hurt her.
He chuckled at her response. "I know the feeling. I could not get to sleep at all so I decided to come down here. I know sneaking outside is easy here," he drawled with amusement. "Back home there are guards posted in the entrance and around. But once in a while they will let me sneak out." he shrugged again. He glanced at her closely. "Do you have any siblings?"

Hallie offered him a small smile. ¡§Alright then, Jon.¡¨ She said, her voice slashing through the silence. That night was exceptionally quiet except for the crickets¡¦ voices and some howling? Well it sure was not a full moon, or was it?
She laughed when he said that it was easy to sneak out at Hogwarts for two reasons: one, it indeed was an easy thing to do and two she would die to see the look on Mr. Filch¡¦s face if he had heard him. The caretaker would surely be fuming. She nodded, honestly, not getting caught when there are so many guards around spelled hardwork. ¡§Siblings? I have two adorable sisters.¡¨ She smiled at the thought of her two amazing sisters. ¡§Why the sudden question, Jon?¡¨ She wondered loudly.

Jon chuckled. "None of them would be a blonde lady that is always loud? I saw her this morning running through the hall yelling something about the headmistress. And she was running behind her." His eyes twinkled in delight. "Her and Gary should meet. Mithros knows they'll have fun together." he told her while chuckling.
After he calmed down he explained, "In Tortall we have a set of gods and goddesses. Mithros rules them all with his sister the Great Mother Goddess. Mithros is also the sun god."
He then looked closely at her. "You don't happen to know my little sister Kaori do you?" he then asked her curiously.

Now it was Hal¡¦s time to chuckle. What he described was so Annie-ish that she needed not ask what the girl looked like or what her name was! ¡§You must be referring to Annie, my big sister, our housemate. She¡¦s in seventh year and like you said always loud. Miles and I always get her infamous headlocks.¡¨ Hallie joyfully bubbled, remembering Annie¡¦s Army games and headlocks. ¡§May I know what she was saying? Just curious.¡¨ She added, wondering what Annie was yelling at the Headmistress this time. Honestly with Annie and Bella, it could be anything.
¡§Gary? Who is Gary?¡¨ She wondered loudly. She had never heard of a Gary before. ¡§Oh.¡¨ She nodded in comprehension. ¡§In Tortall, do you also happen to have a moon god and or goddess?¡¨ She inquired, curiosity shone in her eyes.
Hallie laughed then smirked. ¡§Why?¡¨

Jon had to laugh at that one. "I didn't thought she was that voilent," he said, pretending to sound shock. But he winked at her all the same. Jon frowned, trying to remember what was said. "Well there were a few harsh words exchanged in the process." he answered with twinkling eyes. "And I'll give you two guesses as to whom were saying those words. Mithros I didn't know a woman could say all that," he muttered under his breath. "Well now I am going to have to restate my thoughts on lady knights," he commented to no one in particular. He then shook his head.
"Ah the famous Gareth is a friend of mine back in the palace." he explained to her. "I have a group of close friends at home." he stretched out with a groan. He waved her question with a thoughtful look in his eyes. "Just the Great Mother Goddess my dear." he looked at her.
"Blonde hair the same eyes," he teased. "Kaori talks nonstop about you dear." he told her with twinkling eyes.

The sound of his voice made Hallie burst in a fit of giggles as she winked back at him. ¡§I¡¦ll make it to a point to ask Annie about this rather interesting conversation with Bellearz.¡¨ She grinned as she made a mental note to ask her sister about it. ¡§Annie could definitely say anything, she has THE guts.¡¨ She told him stressing the word ¡¥the¡¦, grinning.
A barely audible ¡§Oh,¡¨ escaped her lips as she nodded in comprehension. So Gary was one of the close friends of Jon. ¡§Great Mother Goddess, sounds good. I have always loved the moon.¡¨ She told him, looking up and scanning the night sky for the moon.
Blush started creeping up her cheeks as she looked in the prince¡¦s eyes. ¡§Really?¡¨ She asked. Young Kaori was a very interesting and sweet girl. ¡§You know, your sister also has THE guts, really.¡¨ She told him, remembering the time in the library.

Jon had to laugh at what Hallie had said. "Well I'm sure she certainly does," he commented with twinkling eyes. "To say what she was saying back then." he let out a small chuckle as he shook his head. "She certainly is crazy though."
He laughed again. "Well i'm sure you do my dear," he told her. He just had to chuckle. "Ah, that she certianly does," he remarked dryly. "You should seen what she does at the palace." after a moment's thought he shook his head quickly. "No stratch that. You really don't want to. She is pure evil," he commented with a smile.

Hallie laughed heartily. Her sister Annie, the so-called devil of the family, had always been crazy. She would have to admit that she did not looked like she was crazy, but she really is deep down and Hallie was happy about it. Her sister was rather funny. ¡§I¡¦m not surprised. Actually, Annie has always been my back bone, not literally!¡¨ She exclaimed happily. ¡§She¡¦s the one who defends me when needed. Honestly, I lack the guts. I¡¦ll bet Miles has even more of that than me!¡¨ She told him as a matter of fact.
¡§Yes, seeing how she, say, combated professor Snape in the Library. Aye, tell ya!¡¨ She chuckled. ¡§Her words were enough to make the dear old proffie explode!¡¨ She chuckled again. ¡§I could have sworn that I saw smoke coming out of Snape's ears. Your little sister is really interesting.¡¨

Jon grinned at what Hallie had said. "She must be something indeed. See I'm the one that has to defend Kaori. She tends to get herself into some...ah...situations if you wish to call it that. And she has our mother's temper as well. I remember there was one time before the start of my third year. Mother went off on father because he would not change some of the laws. Actually she snapped at him and the council," he added with a grin.
That was something he could never forget. A few of the knights who witnessed the events would always made fun of King Roald. The king had laughed it off though. That was the last time Shinkokami had yelled at him in public.
Jonathan blinked a few times when Hallie said something. "My sister. My sister stood up to Snape.." his voice trailed off and he grinned. "Thats Kaori for you. She tends to get testy when she feels that someone has offended her honor."

Hallie nodded in comprehension and it took a while for her to realize that little Kaori snapped at her father and¡K the council. A strangled ¡§Stood up to the council?¡¨ was the only thing that she managed out in shock. She was no expert about this particular things but snapping at a group of people called the council did not sound very good. ¡§Isn¡¦t that¡K dangerous?¡¨ She asked after a while.
"She did!¡¨ Hallie laughed on the look on Kaori¡¦s older brother¡¦s face. His facial expression was kind of unreadable but it was funny. He blinked many times before actually speaking.
She then caught glimpse of his sword which was gleaming in the moonlight. ¡§So you love sword fighting?¡¨ She asked, eyeing his sword intently. She never really tried sword fighting before but she was quite sure she would soon for Professor Cooper, the new professor on the said subject, arrived and was going to teach soon.

The prince cackled in delight. "Oh yes she did," he told her while laughing. "And it was funny. Kaori was pouting when I told her about it. Unfortunaly my sister cannot go into the council room." he grinned at her. "No not really. Most of the time it is a way for them to get a law change or passed. Thats mother for you though."
Jon let out a low whistle. "I bet Snape loved that as much as she did. He better not have given her detention or anything. Or I'll be on him," he threatened with a growl. It was clear that Jonathan did not like Snape at all.
"I love it," he replied with a smile. "I have trained with it since I was eleven."
