Personality: (strengths & weaknesses)
Because Rusty is a Griffith, he was expected to act just like his family. They were a prominent pure blood family, who dabbled in the dark arts and thought they were better than everyone else because they were purebloods. When Rusty began showing his personality, it was apparent to everyone that Rusty would be nothing like his family.
He was very tough. He stood up for himself when his parents blamed him for everything that went wrong. He also let it become known that he hated dark magic and anytime his parents tried teaching it to him, he let his mind wander and even questioned them constantly about the point to dark magic. He let it show that he was friendly and even liked muggles.
Rusty knows how to hold a grudge. Someone makes him mad and he hates them forever. He never learned how to forgive and forget. That could be a reason why he never made alot of friends. As soon as he got mad at one, he broke up the friendship and never spoke to the person again. He may be a friendly person, but he also has a bad temper and makes it known. He's not afraid to yell to make sure he's heard. He's been known to yell at teachers to sometimes.
He is very shy when it comes to women. He has trouble talking to them, especially if he likes them. It takes him awhile to tell them that he likes them and to show his true feelings. Even girls he's known for awhile. He can not bring himself to tell them he liked them. Not just women either. He's basically shy around everyone for the first time. This is also because he has trouble trusting people and he needs to know he can trust them before he tries speaking with them.
He's smart. Both street smart and booksmart. He pays alot of attention in class. This started when he was in the first year. It was a way he could keep his mind off how unhappy his life was. It became a hard habit to break. He did like to study and do homework and many people figured he should be a Ravenclaw, but he's not an overacheiver. He will do other stuff. Studying is not his life. He grew up on the troughest streets in Muggle London for two weeks before finding the orphanage and he learned to survive and fight. Though he will not go looking for a fight, he won't back down from one either.
Rusty is very creative. He likes all sorts of art. From writing to painting to building stuff. He's very skilled at painting and building stuff, but writing isn't something he is skilled in. He will write, but he really isn't that good at poetry and writing books. He keeps all his writings to himself. Building is something he is very good at. Small birdhouses is beginner's work, according to him and he deosn't do that too much. He builds Jewelry boxes for the owner of the Orphanage and drawers and all sorts of other stuff. He can't really draw with pencils or pens, but he loves to paint pictures. He could spend hours doing that.
Music. During the summer, he takes guitar and piano lessons. He does enjoy it, but only sometimes. Sometimes, it takes away from stuff that he really enjoys doing, but he finds it intresting and he knows he will continue playing the instruments for a very long time.
Sports. He doesn't like them, but he doesn't hate them either. He will go to the games sometimes, but at times, he finds it boring and stupid. At the Orphanage, he will sit and watch sports like basketball and baseball and you can say he enjoys them, but when it comes to Quidditch, he doesn't see the point to it. He goes to games, but not all the time. He doesn't really cheer anyone on either when he is there. His dad had been a big fan of the sport, so he thinks that could be why he doesn't like it very much.
Rusty is a very organized person. He's very neat. If he sees one thing on the floor that doesn't belong there, he will pick it up. He likes cleaning. He will spend awhile indoors cleaning up his room. He organizes everything, so he knows where they always are. He was told in his first week at the orphanage that a cluttered room means a cluttered mind and he agreed to it, so now he keeps everything organized.

History: (two paragraphs min)
December 24th was a happy day for Patrick and Marcella Griffith. It was the day that they finally became parents to a healthy 7 pound 7 inch baby boy. They had it all planned out. He would be just like them and they would teach him everything about dark magic. They wanted him to be the next dark wizard.
When he was one, his parents lost hope of him being just like them. Everytime they would show him something dark, he would grab for it, break it, and then laugh. That was when the abuse began and the laughter ended. It was surprising that he grew up and that he even grew. They were times when they wouldn't feed him. They pretty much just ignored him, though his mother did change his diaper and when he was two, she did potty train him.
Living in that house became a nightmare before he was four years old. He was small and very skinny from the lack of nutrition. At night, when they didn't lock his bedroom door, he would sneak down and steal food. He was smart for a four year old. He had learned to take care of himself early because he knew he couldn't depend on his parents to do it. Though when he was five, his parents found out that he snuck down for food, and they locked the fridge.
Things went on like this for years. Then in august, when he was ten, his parents came into his room, elated. He was wondering if it was because they were finally going to kill him. He didn't know it was because Hogwarts had accepted him. He had known of Hogwarts, of course, but his parents used to tell him that he would never be accepted into that school because he was a horrible child who deserved to die rather than learn.
He went to Diagon Alley by himself and the sunlight had hurt his eyes. It had been the first time he'd been outside in years. He took all day buying what he needed because he didn't want to return home. He was enjoying the time he had alone outside the house. But unfortunately, all days come to an end and he had to return home, about eight at night.
He went to King's Cross by himself as well. He was glad nobody did pay attention to this and nobody asked his name right out. Because he liked being by himself, he sat in the compartment by himself and looked at one of his school books. He was a little uncomfortable during the boat ride to the castle because he had to sit with other children, one of which spoke about being in Slytherin.
During the sorting ceremony, the hat kept talking about putting him in Slytherin because of his family. He didn't want to be in that house because then his parents might start thinking that they had been wrong and he was like them. The physical abuse might stop then, but the mental abuse would've began again. The hat never mentioned the other houses, so when it screamed Gryffindor, he sighed with relief. He had been really afraid of being in Slytherin.
He made no friends during his first year, kept to himself and even managed to avoid getting into a fight. Sure he talked to people during his first year, but they didn't become his friends. The second year, he made friends during the train ride. That time, all the compartments had at least someone inside, so he sat with someone else. He was surprised that he was actually making friends. Not only did he make friends, he also made enemies and he had gotten into a few fights that year, also.
Nothing really happened during his third year and the summer before his fourth, he got into this huge fight with his parents. They wanted him to bring something of thiers into Knockturn Alley and he refused. That was when he decided that he was done with them. He packed his bags and left the house. He didn't stay in the wizarding community as he had no one to stay with. He went into muggle London, where he wandered the streets, sleeping out there. They were bad neighborhoods and he was surprised he stayed alive out there. One day, while he was wandering around, he found a building, where children were outside, laughing, playing, having a good time.
One of the workers saw his bag and allowed him inside. That was where he stayed and he really enjoyed himself. He knew he had to keep it a secret that he was a wizard, but he also knew he had to tell the lady in charge. He told her and they figured out a lie to tell the other children, if they asked where he went. He apparently went to a very strict catholic boarding school.
Before the orphanage, he stayed at Hogwarts for the Holidays, but at the orphanage, he started going to the orphanage, but he still didn't like Holidays, any of them, because he'd been cursed with an evil family and they managed to ruin them for him when he was young.
What can you say about your friends? (3 sentences min)
I don't really have many friends because I have trust issues because of my past, but I do love them and they are wonderful. Anybody that can put up with my temper has to be.

{{This is from another site where a masquerade ball is currently going on.}}
Rusty was normally very shy, because of his background. The last thing anyone would expect him to do was go to a ball. But he figured, nobody was going to know him there and maybe he won't be so shy. He just hoped he didn't turn bright red at the end, when it was time to reveal, if he found out he was dancing with a Slytherin. That would be bad! Especially since, his parents had been hoping he'd be a Slytherin.
His Tux was a black suit coat, black slacks and a white vest. He did look nice and older when he wore it, though he hoped nobody would mistake him for a chaperone because of it. He didn't really change his looks any. He made his usual dirty blonde hair black and put on the mask he'd bought.
Deciding that he looked different, he actually smiled. Because he didn't smile to often and was sure most of the people here didn't know what his smile looked like. He made his voice just a tiny bit different. He now had an Italian accent and his voice wasn't as deep as it usually was. He didn't care though. He didn't need to sound more masculine. He was sure nobody would dance with him anyways.
He left the common room and ran down the stairs he didn't want to be late. He slowed when he reached the last flight and walked casually into the Great Hall. The hall looked wonderful. Too bad it couldn't look like this all the time. He looked around, instantly spotting a girl and walked over to her.
"Hello," he said, with the italian accent. "I know we probably don't know each other and it is quick, but would you like to dance?"
