Smiling the former Hufflepuff walked down the streets of diagon. If she was not an adult and a muggleborn at that she would be walking around completely carefree but sadly enough that could not be the case at the moment. Being a muggleborn had become dangerous once more. She remembered what it had been like the last time and she did not like how it was that way again. To tell the truth she was scared like hell.
She had disappeared from the wizarding world for a reason after she had left Hogwarts and the final war was ended. She was too terrified after the experience of such losses that had occured during that time. It was not the friendliest time of her life and having to fight in it was even worse. She still had nightmares from time to time, it really is not a good thing. Her youngest sister had almost gotten killed and the rest of the family had died at the hands of some death eaters. It made her wish that she could have done more.
As the sadness overtook her she thought of something that would bring about happiness again, like the fact that the day was beautiful compared to what life had begun to be like once more. She had a certain craving for icecream which seemed to be the reason she had left the safety of her home. The reasoning was confirmed when she saw Florean Fortesques Icecream parlour up ahead. In her school days that was her favorite place to come in and sit, the owner was always so nice to her...she wondered if he was still the same way she remembered him to be.
She wasn't so sure about going in at the moment but she knew that you would never really know what something was like until you actually gave it a try...what was the worse that could happen? She froze at her own thoughts but then kept on going inside, she would not think of anything too horrible...she was always the happy girl in any situation so why should she be any different now? She wasn't going to. She put her normal friendly smile on and walked in. She looked around at everyone else she passed by with a pleasant smile on her face. She saw many familiar people around so she nodded politely in their directions, then there were a few that she wasn't so sure of and she would not play nice to them.

Annie Appleby skipped down the streets. She was glad that both of her sisters had been sorted into Hufflepuff. It made a fuzzy feeling inside of her. Her eyes darted between the crowds and cracked her knuckles in a threatening way. If anyone would come up and threaten her there would be hell. Annie would not let anyone mess around with her or her family.
Her blonde hair was for once pulled back into a ponytail. The day was hot and she did not feel like messing with it today. She was wearing a short sleeve blouse and a short skirt. The blouse was a classic white and the skirt was black. Perfect for a day like this, she thought happily. Her feet carried her into the ice cream parlor. Ooooh ice cream on a day like this, she thought happily.
She walked in and bounced up to the counter. She leaned against it and ordered her usual: a double decker chocolate chip ice cream. She noticed another woman and flashed a sweet smile.
"Hello,"

"Hello," Hearing a voice she looked around only to be faced with a young girl. Either she was on her way out of school or else she had just gotten out herself. She had this naive look about her that suggested that she was not very old but she wasn't exactly young either. She smiled and nodded in her direction "Hello." she said in return. She wondered if this girl had gone to school with her little sister at all but she highly doubted that as her sister was almost in her thirties, nope she would knock asking her if she knew Claire off of her list.
She studied the girl for a while longer. If it was up to guessing what house she was chosen to be in she would say either Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff...she had that look about her that made her mind wander to those two choices. She would not ask about that either for if she wanted to say anything about it then she would bring it up on her own. That was the thing about Rayne. She was never at all pushy, even when it came to trying to convert someone...it was her belief that if they wanted to change then they would come to her.

Annie held out her hand for the woman to shake. "Annie Appleby. I'm in my seventh year and a proud Hufflepuff." she said happily. If this woman had any problems with it then she was prepared to fight. She looked over the woman a second time. Na, she thought. She seems okay enough.
"Are you a staff around Hogwarts?" she inquired curiously. "I don't think I have seen you anywhere before."

"Annie Appleby. I'm in my seventh year and a proud Hufflepuff." She shook the girls hand, so she was right, the girl was young but not real young. She smiled when she heard that she was from her old house and she was curious about the last name Appleby, it was nothing like she had heard before. I was...very original. She was about to introduce herself when the girl opened her mouth with a question.
"Are you a staff around Hogwarts?I don't think I have seen you anywhere before." She shook her head, there was no way she was going to even volunteer to work at the school with the state that it was in. After everything settled down and she was still alive then maybe she would go for it. "Rayne Marcuchio, Ord-" She stopped in mid-sentence. She had almost said order of the phoenix but wasn't sure, the last thing anyone wanted was a bunch of death eaters gathering around but this girl didn't seem like the kind of person who would work with people like that.

"Order of the phoenix?" she asked too quietly. Then she grinned and took a step back as she held out her arms. "Yes maam I'm a big supporter of the dark lord," she said all to sarcastic. Laughing she lowered her arms down and stepped closer. "Don't worry. I'm in the Order of Merlin. Its kind of like the order of the phoenix though. And I want to get a chance to give the dark lord a good swing," she pushed her right fist into her left one to make her point.
"Nice ta meet you Rayne," she said politely. Her eyes went wide as she took her ice cream from the waiter. She was almost drooling. "Chocolate and sweets calm me down," she told the older woman with a grin. "But the problem is they also make me hyper." her eyes were twinkling with mischief.

"Order of the phoenix?" She smiled and nodded. Annie didn't seem like the type who would be with the dark lord, after all she had said that she was a Hufflepuff. Though there were a few in her house when she was in school that had joined the dark lord early on. It wasn't the common thing but it had happened before, she was pretty sure that it could happen again. She watched curious when the girl stepped back and had her arms held out."Yes maam I'm a big supporter of the dark lord," The next bit she couldn't help but to laugh at, she wouldn't suggest playing around with such a thing but a good laugh was always welcome to her. She was relieved that she wasn't one of those who said "Voldemort".
She watched again and listened as she came forward again and spoke"Don't worry. I'm in the Order of Merlin. Its kind of like the order of the phoenix though. And I want to get a chance to give the dark lord a good swing," She nodded after she finished ending with something she would advise anyone not to do. The dark lord was a dangerous man and she learned first hand not to play with him or even say such things. True she was one of those who would fight him until the day that she died but she knew that while the time was not there that she shouldn't even mention such things, she wanted to wait until the time was there, and she wanted to make a few death eaters pay for what they had done.
"Nice ta meet you Rayne," She nodded and smiled again. "Nice to meet you too Annie." She said softly. Everyone thought she was shy when she wasn't, it was only how she normally spoke, it wasn't like it was something that she could help doing. When a waiter came and gave Annie her ice-cream she flashed him a small smile which he returned before he left and Ann spoke again."Chocolate and sweets calm me down,"She thought this was an odd thing to say when normally chocolate and sweets usually made people go crazy in the end."But the problem is they also make me hyper." She chuckled and nodded "Well I think they do that to everyone, but you can't live without either can you?" She said feeling a little better than when she had come in here.
