It was one of those days. Once again, Ron Weasley had some type of assignment from every class. And once again he'd put them off until now. Classes would resume tomorrow since it'd be Monday. Ron knew he had until Wednesday to do his current work, but he also knew that all the teachers would only give more work in the coming weeks. A downward spiral, that's what it really was.
Pushing his books to the side, Ron brushed his hair away from his face. It didn't help that the sun was shining in through the windows of the Gryffindor common room. Or that young children were goofing off by the fireplace, playing Wizard's Chess and Exploding Snap. "Checkmate!" a young girl screamed with glee. Ron chuckled at her opponent's face. I can't believe he didn't see that coming! I'm going to have to teach him a few things sometime.
Sighing, Ron stood up. He needed to to the work today, and obviously the Gryffindor common room was too distracting. He thought about going to the library, but decided against it. Ron was feeling too lazy today to walk that far anyway. He stared at the pile of books on the table, wondering what homework he should tackle first. He decided to get the hardest thing out of the way. Picking up his Ancient Runes book, some parchment, and his quill he turned to a first year boy. "Can you take those up to my dorm for me? Thanks."
I love being a Prefect, he thought gleefully as he exited the Gryffindor common room. Ron decided that he'd go to the lowest tower. It was usually deserted, so he'd be able to focus a little there. He padded down the stairs of Gryffindor tower, only to walk across the corridor and back up the spiral staircase of the low tower. Ron smiled a little as he reached the top. It was empty, and it didn't have a view of the lawn. Good, no distractions. Ron sank down against the wall and opened his text book. He was determined to get his work done, but the symbols were swarming in front of his eyes already. He blinked and tried again, but it was to no avail. "I hate Ancient Runes," he muttered. Ron was about to let out a string of choice swears when her heard someone climbing up the staircase. "Hello?"
