Luke entered the library quietly. After a small smile towards Madame Pince, Luke walked to the back of the library where he would be less likely to be bothered.
It was a long day and Luke was tired, irritated and in pain. Nightmares, as usual, plagued him at night and he had the unlucky chance of waking up and being unable to fall back asleep. Luke was not a morning person and losing those precious hours of slumber made him snappy and grumpy. The lack of sleep also made him impatient and short tempered. He had already threatened two of his room mates, yelled at a third and glared at numerous first, second and third years. Not to mention talking back at the teachers. He was lucky to not have any detentions. Being annoyed at everyone and everything gave Luke a headache.
So after dinner, Luke went straight to the library, hoping for some peace and quiet.

Oh dear, Annie thought as she snorted. I made them angry. The 'them' was referred to the Slytherins yet again. It wasn't like she did something bad. All right, she made a few insults at them. But that was all she did. And after I said that today is the official hug a Slytherin day. And she actually did it. Laughing like crazy at their faces, Annie turned and flew down the halls, cracking up. She was in a highly good mood that afternoon.
I better get some homework done, she thought as she whipped tears of laughter from her eyes. She walked back to the Hufflepuff common room and gathered her books and everything else. She knew she would pay for what she said later. But why not crack a few jokes? she asked herself as she waved hello to her sisters.
Annie walked out of the common room and made her way to the library. She would really have to concentrate now. She was about to take her exams in less than a month. She was already going crazy. Annie had not been outside the forest since two months ago when she came across her younger sister. And I really wanted to go out in my animagus form. Her form was that of a white tiger. It took her months to learn. But finally she did it.
She entered the library and glanced around, looking for a place to sit. Her sky blue eyes roamed the library until they rested on a Ravenclaw. She pushed her blond hair out of her eyes and made her way over. "Hello there," she said ever so cheerfully. "Mind if I sit?"

Luke was staring out the window at the bacl of the library when he heard footsteps. "Please go away," thought Luke with dread, "I'm not in the mood for company. I'll just snap and offend someone and then I'll feel rotten for it. Which would lead me to an even darker mood and my friends would be the ones who would have to put up with me later."
The footsteps grew closer and closer and Luke guessed that the person was going to join him, whether he was in the mood or not. So when the person, a female by her voice, spoke, Luke was not at all surprised.
"Mind if I sit?"
Luke took a deep breath and with as much control as he could, tried to answer without any annoyance showing in his voice.
"No. Not at all. Go ahead and sit."
There was no point in being mean and the part of Luke who was always trying to be polite to everyone told him to be nice anyways. Even if the other part of him, the part who was annoyed and tired and in pain, wanted to be left alone.
"Stupid good manners. I'm going to regret this later," thought Luke, "At least my mother and Nick would be proud."

Annie smiled brightly as she sat. "Thanks," she said happily, pushing her light blonde hair out of her eyes. "Seventh year is a pain," she moaned as she gently eased the books onto the table. "It may look easy, but the teachers give you a whole bunch of homework. And they make you study. But really, it doesn't matter though." Annie never studied, just skimmed through her notes and she actually gotten good grades because of that.
She looked at him with a frown. "Are you allright?" she asked curiously. Annie wasn't what you would call a prying type. She just wanted to see what was wrong with a person so she'll be able to fix it. "Annie Appleby," she introduced herself. "7th year, Hufflepuff," she looked at him.
[OOC: sorry its short. Being having a period of low muse and everythings been happen. blah.]

While the girl sat down babbled on about the difficulties of being a seventh year, Luke concentrated on breathing. He could practically feel his patience draining. Come on Luke, he thought to himself, you've been in worse situations before. Like that time you had no sleep, no food and a killer headache when dad had company over. The obnoxious man kept on asking you questions and Loretta kept on playing with your hand because she was bored.
Luke breathed out. He'll survive. He just hoped that the girl wouldn't be around if he snapped. Actually, he hoped that no one would be around when he snapped. It would get messy.
"Are you alright?"
Luke nodded, his face now showing mild interest in what the girl had to say even though he wasn't really listening. Luke thanked his father for having company over often. Those occasions really allowed Luke to practice his acting.
"Yes, everything's fine," lied Luke.
The girl continued talking and Luke found himself able to concentrate on her words this time. "Annie Appleby," she introduced herself. "7th year, Hufflepuff."
Luke put on a polite smile and answered, "Luke Landrey, 6th year Ravenclaw."
