why me? the witch thought to herself. It was true, that she couldn't be herself around any really, afraid of what her friends would think, not only that, but what everyone else would think. Sure, she can be bossy one moment, and cuddly the next, but does it really matter what most think and more?
Bringing her knees up to her chest, relying on the stair which her back was touching to break any of her falls, she placed her head on her knees. This was one of her favorite places of all, no where else, she could just relax, sit out in the sun shine, possibly meet someone knew, after all, there weren't many people around then, it was if as though Letitia was the only one there, that she was the only one on this mean, circling planet

The courtyard was not a place that Kaiden usually frequented. While in recent times few people hung around there, it still held the ghosts of the memory of large grous of people, and crowds were one of the many things that Kaiden hated. He seemed to hate a lot now, but that wasn't unexpected.
The one big thing that had changed was his odd acceptance. In the past week or so, Kaiden had started working with the Dark Mark, not so much in support of Bellatrix or the Dark Lord but so that he'd have something to do and the permission to use dark magic whenever he wanted. There were perks to going to the dark side. Another of those perks was that Kaiden was slowly, accepted back into Slytherin. Sure, he had been in the house for over six years, but he'd never really fit in. Now, it seemed, he was allowed the chance to try and fit in, without the pain.
But it wasn't working. No matter how he tried, Kaiden just wasn't a 'people person'. He preferred his status as a loner, compared to being stuck in the middle of a group of Death Eater teenagers who would just as soon kill you as help you. They weren't friends, they were like co-workers, except at school. Friends... well, he had almost none left. There were a few, but it wouldn't be long before he scared them off too. Or school would end and he go off and disappear like he'd planned.
Funny thing was, disappearing was a lot harder than he'd thought. Especially when he kept running into people during his wanders, like now.
On the stairs in the courtyard was a girl, one he recognised as being in Ravenclaw and his year, and in the Dark Mark too... but he wasn't entirely sure. Kaiden's memory hadn't been too good recently.
But she was, unfortunately, sitting right in the middle of the stairs that he needed to ascend to get back to the library. His break from the Slytherins had been long enough, and now he had a job to do, though he'd rather not disturb the girl. He'd rather not disturb anyone, actually, but at the moment that was hard. She was in the way.
Kaiden hesitated at the bottom of the stairs, not looking at he girl, trying to decide whether he ought to find another way up.

Letitia looked up to find a Slytherin that she worked with in the Dark Mark. He was a wierd guy, very wierd in her opinion, but always just thought him as mis understood, after all, if her calculations were correct, he wasn't very social, and hardly any friends. Seeing him stare at her, not being rude she looked at him, not saying anything, her teared stained face, the mascarra dripping down her cheek, she now regretted looking up, as now someone had seen her crying, something she came out here for, so no-one did see.
She looked back down shyly, if he wanted her to move, he'd have to say something, anything. SHe felt like running away from this place, running away, but knowing her position, that could just make things worse, her family would be broken down, or everyone but her mother and step father anyway.
"Yes?" she said quiet, mumbling her words

Oh boy.
Really, Kaiden had to pay more attention. He hadn't noticed that the Ravenclaw girl - Letitia, if his memory served correctly - was crying. And, of course, that got him upset too. She reminded him too much of someone else, someone from long ago, for him to just leave her be.
You idiot, you can't take care of yourself, never mind another person, pointed out another part of his mind. Great, hearing voices too. Not a good sign. Maybe he ought to go see Madam Pomfrey...
But he had gotten Letitia's attention now, and he had to say something instead of just standing there like the idiot that he was. Okay, but what? Hello, I noticed that you were crying... That wouldn't help what little reputation he had out in the school.
Easiest thing to say would just be...
"Are you all right?" he asked, trying to sound neutral, but somewhat concerned. Kaiden had a feeling that he failed at his attempt. Well, it was better to think about his horrible social situation than to think about what this reminded him of.

The aquad silence was the last thing she wanted, expecially around a fellow student, teacher..or Snape, yes, but not another student. FInally when he spoke, the silence was broken.
"Are you all right?"
She wanted to say do I look okay[/u] being in a pregnant dogy mood, but decided against it, and decided to lie and say she was fine. "Yeah I'm fine" she said, making the same mistake over again, looking at him, for some reason, her Metamorphmaguy powers weren't really working at that exact moment, she could only really make the stains worse, so she decided not to try and look at him. Hoping her wouldn't notice the bruises on her legs, it was the last thing she needed, someone to notice them...she hadn't really told anyone about that, it wasn't like she was being beaten or anything, she had just been dancing extra hard, and the falling over, and the pointe' hadn't exactly helped

How odd. She even said it in the same tone that he did on a regular basis. "I'm fine." It was funny how pretty much anyone that said that really wasn't fine. And it was pretty obvious that Letitia wasn't fine.
What to do? Kaiden wasn't the comforting type, nor did he usually sit down and listen to someone's problems, but this seemed a little different. It wasn't like there was anyone else around but them two.
It seemed that today was a big challenge in social situations for Kaiden. In the past two minutes he'd been thinking more about talking to someone than he had for... a long time. A very long time. How interesting.
"Of course you are," he replied, climbing a few steps up, closer to her. "But I think we both know that's not the truth." Kaiden was surprised at his own words. More than he'd strung together for a long time. But not only that... it was just like something that he wished someone would say to him when he wasn't doing well. Hopefully she'd take them the right way. He wasn't trying to pry, just trying to make sure that nothing particularly horrible was going on.

Letitia looked up at him again, still sitting down, it was wierd talking to someone while they were standing up, and she was sitting down, she just wished for him to sit down. For some strange reason, his voice comforted her, he kind of reminded her of an old dance partner, he was very strange, and anti-social too, but under neath he was a nice guy, she was wondering what Kaiden was like under neath.
"I would appreciate if you told no-one of this" she said, still looking down at the stair he was standing on. It was very kind of him to stay her with her, expecielly being a Slytherin and all, but she couldn't really tell him about the side difficulties, and the pressure of not being killed by the Dark Mark, for passing on all the spells of dark arts onto the Order of Merlin, she would deffinately be dead before she could negotiate.
Not being able to bite her tongue any longer, she finally spoke again, "what have I gotten myself into?" she asked herself

"I would appreciate if you told no-one of this"
"Of course." It wasn't like there was anyone for Kaiden to tell. And talking about someone else's emotional problems... that was just rude. But there were many people in the school who wouldn't think that was rude. Was Kaiden getting a conscience... or morals? No way.
"what have I gotten myself into?"
Hm. An interesting question, one Kaiden was beginning to wonder to himself. He had no interest in getting himself mixed up in someone else's life, but here he was, talking to someone Ravenclaw like he actually cared.
But that was what was worrying him. It seemed that he did care... or else he was mis-interpreting the weird feeling of something like pity that he felt. It was much easier to get through life without emotions, and talking to people brought out those unwanted emotions. Time to leave, then.
Kaiden remained where he was. "I don't know," he answered her question. "You could explain it to me, though." Sensing... something, Kaiden crouched down and took a seat a step below her, which made him only a bit taller than her.
[[Sorry it's a bit short...]]

Of course[/i][/u]
"Thanks, I just..you know, don't want my friends to start worrying....and when my brother finds out, he'll kill every one in this school until he gets it out of me what's wrong...don't even want to tell him...." Letitia explained.
Of course. You could explain it to me, though[/i][/u]
"I cant. for my own safety....I cant explain it, I just should keep my big mouth shut" The ravenclaw scrowled herself, she should've, she couldn't tell him that she was in the Order, and passing on infomation from the Dark Mark, it would be at least the end of her social life, as in she'd be in hiding until Harry won the battle, and wouldn't be able to do anything....

"Thanks, I just..you know, don't want my friends to start worrying....and when my brother finds out, he'll kill every one in this school until he gets it out of me what's wrong...don't even want to tell him...."
Interesting family. Somewhat like Kaiden's except Kaiden's sisters would probably start by killing him. They couldn't, now that he was working for the Dark Lord just like they were, but if he wavered at all in his loyalty... they'd be the first to come after him.
"I cant. for my own safety....I cant explain it, I just should keep my big mouth shut"
So now she was in danger because of her breakdown? That didn't add up. Clearly something was going on, but Kaiden knew that he wasn't likely to get her to tell him. And he didn't want to push someone as upset as she was. It would just be... mean. And with his new-found conscience, Kaiden couldn't do such a thing.
"I suggest that you find someone with whom to speak, then," Kaiden said at last. "Someone you can trust." He didn't mind that he was not one of those who could be trusted; he was a Slytherin, and not very well-known within the school. Of course, he wasn't likely to tell anyone anyways. Few would listen, and those who did wouldn't believe him. That's just how it was.

"Like who? If I cant talk to a complete stranger, someone who doesn't exactly know alot about me, who probably doesn't even know my name....how can I trust my family, friends? They're just going to start panicking. I know them too well" The ravenclaw finally spoke. It was true, and they weren't the ones to make fusses, in fact they were the fun & crazy type of people, but she could tell that something was going on..just anything. And she could tell that in the future she was going to get herself killed before the war ended if she wasn't careful.

What Letitia said was true... but it depended on the problem. Who to trust, who to trust? That was the same thing that he often wondered about, because there was going to be a time soon when he would need to tell certain things to the right people. But who were the right people, the ones who could be trusted?
"Professors," The Slytherin offered. "Many of them can be trusted. I have trusted them in the past... particularly McGonagall." It was ironic how Kaiden had gained the greatest support - however temporary - from the Head of a house that would love to murder the Slytherins in their sleep. Especially now, with the Lestrange woman. He was no happier than the rest of the school about the appointment of a Death Eater as Headmistress.
"If not," Kaiden shrugged, "sometimes strangers are the right way to go." He looked out across the courtyard, watching to make sure no one arrived. If they did, he had a feeling that both he and Letitia would bolt, and not necessarily to the same place.

"I know that I can trust a few Proffesers, expeically Flitwick, I've trusted him before, but what happens if he gets tortured, or someone reads his mind, it's not that I don't trust them, it's just that I'm afraid theres away to get this out of there head you know?" Letitia asked, getting a bit too trusting of this Slytherin..why she hadn't ran away once she saw him, she had no idea....but there must be something, a reason why she was drawn to him. A reason why she hadn't ran away from him, bolted.
When the 7th year looked around the courtyard, Letitia finally spoke again. "Is there something wrong? Were you meant to be meeting someone here?" she asked, knowing she would deffinately run if the answer was yes

Kaiden pondered this a moment. He had a feeling that Letitia was saying things that she either wasn't supposed to or didn't want people to know. What she said about mind-reading... It reminded him of one person, and one only.
"Professor Flitwick is a lot hardier than you would think," Kaiden spoke slowly, "but that is not your point. I do not know what you can do now, just remember that talking often helps."
"Is there something wrong? Were you meant to be meeting someone here?"
"No," Kaiden frowned. "I do not get along well with people. There is no reason for me to need to meet anyone." Though he wouldn't complain about this meeting.

"I know, other wise I would've ran off before now if I didn't..." Letitia said. She didn't know why, but she just felt relaxed around the stranger, of course, people would've start talking if she was seen with a Slytherin, not that they weren't already, with Draco & her. They actually kissed once, she could still remeber it. Of course, it meant nothing, then another Slytherin she kissed him at the lake, then a former Slytherin, the potions master.
"No, do not get along well with people. There is no reason for me to need to meet anyone[/u][/i]
"Well, I'm trying to figure out why you dont....I mean, it takes alot of courage to sit her next to me while I was crying...you know that right?" Letitia questioned
